President Obama is seriously pressing for a complete halt to the construction of any additional Jewish settlements “on Palestinian territory” in the West Bank and for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian problem, two positions that the new Israeli government under Prime Minister Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu has opposed.
