President Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan handed control of the nation’s nuclear arsenal over to Prime Minister Yusaf Raza Gillani on Friday night. Zardari’s move confirmed the uncertainty of his political future as an amnesty that has shielded him from prosecution for corruption expired today.

Well-run corporations know at least one thing very well. They don’t put people associated with the creation of a problem in charge of solving it. They know that if they do, the appointees will become immersed in covering their backsides or will perpetuate the problems, or both.

Yes, that’s Afghanistan, the country we’re investing billions in, the country that our military personnel are dying in and the country run by a government that we established and continue to support.

Thursday evening, I was watching Glenn Beck rant about the national debt. Naturally, he blamed it all on President Obama. Glenn Beck knows better but, unfortunately, his gaggles of ditto-heads don’t.
